Commenting on the Supreme Court's decision to uphold Affordable Care Act subsidies:
"Today’s decision from the Supreme Court has given credit to a badly-written bill that intentionally avoided re-drafting and compromise.
"The Affordable Care Act originally came to the floor when the Democrats had a supermajority in Congress and there was no chance of a filibuster. Once that supermajority was threatened, President Obama worked with House and Senate leaders to prematurely pass the bill in order to avoid re-drafting with input from Republicans.
"The result was a badly-worded law that no one had read, easily subject to error.
"The United States is in desperate need of healthcare reform, but the changes delivered by the ACA have manifested in higher non-group premium costs in 45 states, the inability to keep one’s doctor, and further financial burdens placed on the poorest and sickest patients. All the while, millions of Americans remain uninsured, with poor access to quality healthcare.
"The passage of the Affordable Care Act valued politicking over legality and policy-making. The Supreme Court has ruled that the bill holds up to scrutiny, but Americans experiencing the consequences of its mistakes know better."

Republicans Overseas UK is a political organization for Americans living and working abroad. As an organization, we have three objectives:
- Support American's living, studying and working in the United Kingdom.
- Promote the interests of American ex-patriots in the political process.
- Encourage the election of common sense Republican candidates.
Buried in H.R. 1295 (the so-called "fast track trade bill") is Section 603, which provides for NSA-style sweeping up of all financial information of all citizens and US residents. It sets the stage for that information to be shared with all countries around the world. If enacted, this would infringe on the privacy of all US citizens, and particularly those living outside the United States.Read more

Dear Fellow Republican Overseas UK Members and Friends --
At the end of January, we completed our 1st year as Republicans Overseas. Our worldwide team has worked tirelessly on behalf of all Overseas Americans. Over the past year, RO Country Leadership Teams have had the opportunity to be part of the Republican National Committee year round meetings and have our voice influence policy on issues that matter to those of us living abroad.
We used to be Republicans Abroad UK. Now, we're Republicans Overseas UK. It's a distinction with a difference, giving us a greater voice on behalf of US citizens living, working and studying in the United Kingdom.
